New Links in Facebook Working Now

shy-no-image In my previous blog post, I mentioned that our links sent to our Facebook page via WordPress's Publicize service were not working.  After submitting a bug report to WordPress, it appears that new posts now have the correct URL (link).  This did not fix the old links, however.  I did add a plugin to WordPress that tries to guess what page you were trying to go to.  Sometimes it will forward you to the correct page, and other times it will give you a list of 5 pages it thinks you might mean.  At Read more [...]

Links in Facebook Incorrect (JetPack Publicize)

shy-blog-post We found another issue that is a bit annoying.  All of the links we posted to Facebook about our new recipes and blog posts are wrong.  We are using WordPress' JetPack Publicize plugin to automatically announce new posts on Facebook and Twitter.  For some reasons it posts the correct link to Twitter, yet posts an incorrect link to Facebook. Shy Home Chef Website Back Up!

shy-no-image Based on our website statistics, it looks like our website was down for the last 10 days due to incorrect DNS records, specifically incorrect name server records for those technically inclined (DNS glue).  What is really weird is that the website worked for over a month with the incorrect entries, and then stopped working.  But that is typical of DNS glue issues, where some people will see the site just fine, while others cannot reach the website at all. The Story Behind the Website

shy-no-image My wife, the Shy Home Chef, is a great cook, and she loves to experiment and create new delicious dishes.  And I can attest to the deliciousness of the food by the pounds I have added since we got married.  With my wife being Filipino, and I being an American, we both grew up with different cuisines.  So now that we are married, we often try different things, ranging from traditional Filipino food she grew up with, to things I am more used to, such as Tex-Mex, Chinese, Italian or American dishes.
